The first thing to note is that surrogacy in Mexico is commercially structured. This means that a surrogate can and may receive "remuneration" from the intended parents. This remuneration is also referred to as compensation. In addition, there are so-called surrogacy agencies in Mexico that find and place gestational carriers. These agencies are responsible for selecting potential surrogates according to very specific criteria: Does the potential surrogate already have children of her own, does she not use drugs, has a clean police history, is she aware of her rights/obligations, is she not financially dependent on performing a surrogacy, etc. Therefore, the agencies "screen" these women very intensively before they can even be introduced to their intended parents. In addition, these agencies monitor the progress of the entire pregnancy and also after the birth of the child/children; they are the contact persons for the intended parents and the surrogate. For all these services, these agencies charge fees, which in turn may vary.
In order to carry out a surrogacy in Mexico, the first step is the legal part - a court order - which means that the intended parents and the surrogate have legal security.
A quick "matching" between a potential surrogate and the intended parents is rather common in Mexico.
