Our U.S. fertility partners offer a wide range of treatments. An additional service offered is an own egg donor program. Below is a short overview of our range of services.
IVF treatment in our fertility clinics
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is the process by which a patient is stimulated with special medication so that several eggs or follicles mature in a woman’s ovary. Once the eggs have grown, they are retrieved through the vaginal wall using an ultrasound-guided needle. During an egg retrieval, the patient is lightly sedated. Sperm is then added to the retrieved eggs to allow fertilization to take place. The fertilized embryos are implanted in the uterus of a woman with the help of a so-called frozen embryo transfer.
IVF is useful in combination with surrogacy as well. An IVF cycle would be carried out in order to obtain oocytes. These eggs are then fertilized with the sperm of the partner or a sperm donor and embryos are then cultivated. The embryos can then be transferred to a surrogate if the intended mother cannot carry the child herself.
Further treatment options:
Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD)
Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy (PGT-A)
Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) is generally understood as the performance of genetic testing prior to implantation of the embryo into the uterus. To determine if there are any specific genetic diseases in the embryo, PGT-A testing will look for chromosomal abnormalities in the embryo. The sex of the embryos can also be determined through this process. PGD/PGT-A testing is offered in most U.S fertility clinics. PGD/PGT-A is legal in the United States, whereas in Germany, for example, preimplantation diagnostics can only be done under special circumstances where there are certain legal steps involved.
